Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define concealer #instafaminvestigates

Isn’t it lovely when you meet other people who enjoy the same things as you? Through Instagram, I’ve met too many wonderful people to mention. However, there’s a particular group of lovely ladies who love makeup as much as me and have become dear friends. Together, we’ve decided to purchase and review some of the latest products and let you guys know what we think! What better product to kick this series off than with the Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define concealer. Makeup Revolution is arguably the most popular and talked about makeup brand in South Africa thanks to it’s recent (and long awaited!) launch.

My lovely friends and I want to help you guys make informed makeup choices. Honestly, I know how many products are out there and how overwhelming it can be to know which ones are worth their salt. Personally, this was actually the first Makeup Revolution product I’ve used so I really came into the brand pretty fresh.

The Makeup Revolution Define and Conceal in all it’s beauty!

Being new to the brand, this is more like a “First impressions” than a full blown review. I think one of the reasons I’m so excited to write this review is because I have flu and every part of my face looks ugly and puffy except under my eyes. So I guess the product really works like a bomb!

The Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define concealer is said to be a dupe for one of the most highly regarded concealers of all time – Tarte’s Shape Tape.  The concealer is described as “the concealer for everyone” . Boasting 25 shades varying from fair to deep, in cool, neutral and warm undertones the range is quite inclusive. I think if we’re looking at positives for this product, having a large variety of shades is definitely a plus! But whether we get all these shades in South Africa is always another story.

The formula is described as lightweight and easily blendable with your fingers or a brush. While it’s light, it’s still able to give full coverage in order to:

  • cover blemishes
  • even skin tone
  • counteract dark circles

How the concealer looks on:

So after just applying the concealer, it looks absolutely flawless. Almost like I used Facetune or something. However after a few hours you will notice a little bit settling into fine lines, but nothing major or terrifying. Let’s just say, I’ve used concealers that do this a LOT worse:)

It promises that even though it is a matte finish that it won’t settle or accentuate fine lines and pores. However I do notice it settling a bit into my fine lines – nothing absolutely shocking but there definitely is some settling! I think this has to do with the matte finish.

My eyes look fresh and alert when I’m wearing this concealer. I must say, I definitely do think it’s able to cover up dark circles pretty well. And I have pretty dark under eye circles so I’m impressed.

And what about the applicator?

The applicator is actually really amazing! It’s described as a “large doe foot applicator”.  This applies more surface area which allows for smooth application that won’t drag or irritate the delicate skin under your eyes. The formula is very creamy as well so when applying it won’t irritate or pull at your skin at all.

Who exactly is Makeup Revolution?

I’m definitely impressed with this concealer, and will keep using it! For only R105, it’s really well priced!

Where can I purchase the concealer?

You can purchase it from selected Clicks stores, or via Clicks online for R104,95.

Concluding thoughts

What I love about the Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define concealer is how amazing the quality is for the price. Not everyone is in a position to stock up their makeup collection with high end brands. Trust me, I am currently saving for an expensive makeup palette and it’s taking ages to have enough to afford it! So it’s always lovely when a brand pushes out fabulous products at a fraction of the price.
