So finally spring is here! The warmth is definitely a welcome change to those early, cold and dark mornings getting ready for work. So I’ve rounded up some of my September Spring favorites for you.
So I’ll start with an all time classic which is the Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream. This iconic product has a magical multi-tasking all-purpose formulation and it can be used to shape brows, revitalise shine, soothe dry hands and smooth cuticles and nails. I know it’s a little pricey (R285 at Clicks) but this little guy will last you for aaaagees!! You use the tiniest amount and because it really just is that good, you don’t have to constantly reapply. Coming out of winter I still apply a bit on my cuticles if they are slightly dry and it works wonders. My other favorite use for this is my brows.
Lipstick pic of the month is the MAC cremesheen Creme in Your Coffee lipstick. This creamy, balmy formula features a comforting feel, medium buildable coverage and a semi-glossy finish. This stuff feels like butter on your lips and stays on for a good while.
The Nivea Perfect and Radiant Micellar Water is my greatest find of the month and you can read my full review of this product here. It’s incredible for makeup removal and doesn’t leave your skin feeling tight or dry – something I’ve struggled with many other make-up removing products.
As far as eyeliners go I really am a big fan of the Essence Eyeliner Dip Black. It’s an incredible steal at R54,95 at Clicks and for the price I find it to be surprisingly long lasting. The brush gets a good amount of product on it and stays the same shape even after many uses – some brushes I find are too thin and make it hard to get that winged eyeliner look.
And lastly how can I ever neglect to mention my all-time favorite MAC Highlighter – Soft and Gentle. This is my go-to product and although MAC products are rather expensive, this is a case for me where you get what you pay for. You are purchasing a product that will last you for ages (Even if you use it everyday) and it stays on the entire day. Of all my makeup products this one I get by far the most compliments on. I think it gives you an instant summery glow that’s still on at the end of the day when you’re grumpy and tired.
So that rounds up my September Spring Favorites – it’s a truly great time of the year where we can start dusting off our summer dresses, summery tops and pack away the boots (Although I’m a die-hard ankle boot fan and wear them all year round!)
